Sunday: Fly in to St. Thomas, USVI at any time before 4:00pm on Sunday and make your way to our hotel just a 5 minute walk from the airport. After check-in, take some time to relax before we meet by the pool for informal introductions and an overview of our trip plans.

Later, we’ll get a shuttle into town and enjoy dinner out in Charlotte Amalie!

Monday: We’ll be up early today to board a shuttle to Red Hook where we’ll catch a 7:30am ferry to St. John. At Cruz Bay in St. John, we’ll meet up with our kayak guide and grab a quick bite at a local bakery. Then we’ll jump aboard our power boat and proceed upwind to Tortola, BVI. After clearing customs, we will proceed to the beautiful Peter Island where we will learn the fundamentals of paddling a kayak in calm waters. After a break for lunch and snorkeling we’ll go for a short paddle.

Tuesday: After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll leave camp and set out for Pelican Island and the “Indians”, a collection of rock formations off shore offering some of the most spectacular snorkeling in the Virgin Islands. From Pelican Island we paddle to Norman Island, the island upon which Robert Louis Stevenson allegedly based his novel “Treasure Island”. Anchored in the bay at Norman Island is a ship, the William Thornton, now famous as a floating bar and restaurant. We’ll stop here to enjoy lunch and a cold drink before returning to our campsite on Peter Island for some relaxing beach yoga and meditation.

Wednesday: Today we’ll break camp at sunrise and have a quick breakfast before paddling across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to the West End of Tortola. Here, we’ll break for some rest and enjoy lunch among the colorful Caribbean-style shops at Soper’s Hole. Then, it’s off to the island of Jost Van Dyke where we’ll set up camp at an established campground in White Bay, often named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Wind down with a stroll along the beach and enjoy a sunset cocktail at Soggy Dollar Bar before dinner.

Thursday: Today is for exploring many nearby natural treasures. We’ll kayak to the postcard-perfect uninhabited island of Sandy Cay where we’ll enjoy snorkeling and lunch. If time permits, we may even have the opportunity to kayak to Diamond Cay, where we can hike to the Bubbly Pool for playtime in the surf before returning to camp.

Tonight after dinner, we’ll enjoy a special evening yoga meditation under the full moon.

Friday: Today we’ll leave British waters and paddle back to Cruz Bay, St. John. Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch at one of St. John’s beautiful north shore beaches. From Cruz Bay, we’ll clear customs, unpack our kayaks and head for our lodge to get settled in our eco-tents.

Tonight we’ll head for a local hangout for a casual and fun dinner out.

Saturday: Enjoy an optional yoga session at our lodging today, before our hearty breakfast. We’ll need to power up for a challenging, fun day of hiking the lovely trails of St. John. We’ll see the Reef Bay Great House and some sugar mill ruins before heading down to the beach for a picnic lunch.

Back at our lodge, it’s time to relax by the pool and get cleaned up for our farewell dinner at Concordia. It’s been an amazing week, with many stories to share!

Sunday: We’ll enjoy a light and early breakfast to allow time for packing and heading back to Cruz Bay. From here, you can choose to enjoy some time here or choose to head back to St. Thomas by ferry to catch your flight home and start planning your next big adventure.

NOTE: This is only a sample itinerary; your actual route can and will change due to wind, weather and sea conditions. If, for example, the seas are too rough for paddling (i.e. there is a small craft warning) we may spend the day hiking or sightseeing rather than paddling.
