Saturday: Fly in Portland, Maine at any time before 2:00pm on Saturday. Our group will meet at the airport and travel together by bus to Camden, Maine. Upon arrival in Camden, we’ll proceed to the docks to board our tallship and get settled in our cabins.

We’ll walk to a casual welcome dinner at a local restaurant tonight, and spend our first night aboard docked in Camden Harbor.

Sunday-Tuesday: The next morning we’ll set out into Penobscot Bay and go sailing! Our destinations each day will be dictated by the wind, tide, and mood—for our ship is pure sail and has no inboard engine. Once the sails are set and trimmed, perhaps we’ll head downeast towards Acadia National Park or towards enchanting Eggemoggin Reach. Anchorages are mostly deserted islands or small island lobster fishing towns. It is a true escape to places few people will ever experience.

Spend your days trimming sails, steering the schooner, learning about the Maine coast and wildlife, or just sit back, read a book, and watch the scenery drift past. We often see bald eagles, seals, porpoises and occasionally whales. The galley crew will cook up delicious meals on a wood cookstove, so those sea going appetites will be well satisfied. Our group of Sol Sisters will even be treated to a beach lobster bake, complete with bonfire!

When the sun begins to set, we’ll settle into a cozy harbor and swing silently at anchor. Take this opportunity to launch a rowboat and explore the area. Head ashore for some beachcombing or hike around a small Maine island town, but be sure to be back aboard for a hearty dinner. After dessert, enjoy time with your new shipmates, check out the beautiful night sky.

Mornings and evenings are beautiful times to enjoy a yoga session with our instructor. Tuesday night is the full moon and our last night aboard our ship. We’ll enjoy a special moonlight yoga session on deck after dark.

Wednesday: After a hearty breakfast, we’ll disembark and head in to Camden for some exploring. This is your free day to do as you wish and have lunch on your own. After check-in at our Camden hotel, we’ll meet up again for a group dinner.

Thursday: We’ll enjoy a full breakfast at our hotel this morning. We should have our “land legs” back by now, so we’ll take to the road by bicycle for some land-side scenery and exercise. After a leisurely ride, and a picnic lunch lakeside, we’ll proceed to up the road to Lincolnville for a visit to Cellardoor Winery. Taste some excellent wines and take a private VIP tour of the beautiful 68-acre farm and 200-year old structures. But go light on the tasting—we still need to ride our bikes safely back to Camden for our farewell dinner complete with adventure storytelling!

Friday: The week has gone by so quickly, and after breakfast at our hotel it’s time to board the bus back to the airport in Portland. During our drive back, you can dream and plan your next adventure!

NOTE: This is only a sample itinerary; our activities can change due to wind, weather and sea conditions.
